ABOUT:
Everyday Olympia is an online newspaper, created by Mathias Eichler, owner of Einmaleins in downtown Olympia, Wa. When Mathias and his wife Trixy opened the store in the late Summer of 2007, Mathias was wondering how he should advertise his new store. After talking to other people around town and other downtown business owners, he realized that he wasn’t the only one wondering that very thing. Mathias decided to take matters into his own hands…
Mathias created ‘First Friday’ in December of 2007, a monthly event for all businesses and organizations in downtown Olympia to open their doors and welcome the community in to taste what downtown has to offer. After great response from community members and business owners, Mathias decided to extend the reach of ‘First Friday’ and create an even greater platform that could facilitate as a voice and face for Downtown Olympia. The idea for a new internet platform, EVERYDAY OLYMPIA was born. Now we’re a network of local bloggers that care about this wonderful city and are sharing their passion and life with you.
