It’s St. Patrick’s Day! My mother just called to wish me a happy day, and thanks to her, I didn’t walk out of my house wearing all blue like I’d intended to. The Olympia Toy Run, a benefit for needy children, was kicked off today at 11am with performances by the Seattle Cossacks Stunt & Drill Team and the T90 Drill Team. The Seattle Cossacks put on quite a show with their human pyramid. The famous ride started at 1pm at South Sound Center on Sleater-Kinney Road and is set to end at Marathon Park on Deschutes Parkway after the cyclists rev down Capital Way. [more]
It’s that time of year again, where the darkness is light up by twinkling lights and trees are being dressed up in candycanes and bows. Yesterday in downtown Olympia was no different. Holiday spirit washed over the city as music and dance surrounded Sylvester Park and families came out to enjoy the festivities and play in piles of leaves. [more]
