Our February read is Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh. This historically-based novel is the first book in a trilogy. Mr. Ghosh’s lyrical writing is the perfect vehicle for this layered story about a ship and its passengers crossing the Indian Sea before the outbreak of the Opium Wars in China.
