TED Talk LibeskindTED posted a fantastic talk today by world-renown architecht Daniel Libeskind. He answers the question I’ve been pondering over the last few weeks and have been challenging us at Downtown Together: Can we define, inspire and create a “Pattern Language” for our Downtown? Now, of course, Liebeskind 17 words are more ethereal than words general used to create pattern language, but they are a great start and I hope we can start to dream, create and develop a downtown for the future.

As Peter Stroble was quoted in the Olympian today:

“Of all the great advantages and traits Olympia has to offer, one attribute stands out above all others in my opinion: its potential. I believe Olympia and its surrounding region can become the true envy of all small, non-commuter, non-retirement, non-vacation cities on the West Coast. Given what it already has going for it and what it has yet to accomplish, Olympia can, and should, become the model small city for the way of life in the 21st century,”
