The Global Oneness Project & Olympia Film Society Present
The New Narrative: Local Voices for a Global Future
Free Multimedia and Community Gathering Event in Olympia on May 15, 2009
The challenges of our time are calling for change on a scale we do not yet understand. While the solutions may already be here, no single community will lead the way forward.
The Global Oneness Project recognizes that change is rooted in local community so they have been travelling the world to document examples of how people are solving real-life problems grounded in compassion, respect and responsibility for all of life.
What: The Global Oneness Project Presents a Free Multimedia Event called –
The New Narrative: Local Voices for a Global Future
The local community is invited to participate in a pre-event reception, film screening and café-style conversations to exchange ideas, foster relationships, and strengthen the changes already taking place in Olympia.
Featuring –
· Premiere of new film called What Would It Look Like? And a selection of short documentary films on individuals and organizations from many countries working towards sustainability, peace and social justice;
· A presentation by Orland Bishop, a pioneering community organizer, founder and director of ShadeTree Multicultural Foundation about the challenges urban communities face worldwide and the solutions he has found combining new ideas and traditional knowledge;
· Question and answer session with film-maker Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee.
